My qualifications
- I’ve been a writer and editor for more than 20 years.
- I have an undergraduate degree in English and a graduate degree in journalism.
- I’ve worked in book, newspaper and magazine publishing, editing dozens of non-fiction texts and writing hundreds of articles and profiles for national newspapers and consumer magazines. view portfolio »
My services
As a writer/editor, I’ve worked with many types of content. However, I work best with stories I feel an affinity for. These tend to be true stories, particularly those that show an individual’s struggle and triumph over life’s adversities.
For example, I recently edited a book about a woman who escaped from a cult. Illiterate until her mid 30s, she is now in law school. I have also written numerous profiles about
seemingly ordinary people who have quietly accomplished heroic feats.
The human spirit is tenacious, and I prefer to work on stories that illustrate this — stories that span experience from a point of vulnerability to a point of dignity, or from a point of ignorance to illumination.
That’s because I believe in the power of story to inspire.
